Guralp Radian
A high-performance underground broadband seismometer offering maximum flexibility and capable of operating at any angle.
Guralp Radian is a triaxial, force-feedback, broadband digital seismometer developed for post-hole and borehole installations.
- Its ultra-wide frequency response from 120 s to 200 Hz makes Radian ideal for seismic monitoring applications at all scales. It delivers outstanding performance, particularly in environments with high cultural noise. For greater flexibility, the high-pass corner frequency can be remotely configured to suit the installation environment.
- With a diameter of only 55 mm, Radian is an extremely compact digital seismometer, making it highly suitable for underground applications. Depending on the intended use, the device can be configured for either acceleration response or velocity response.
- The velocity-response version enhances long-period gain, making it ideal for monitoring long-period and low-amplitude ground motions.
- The acceleration-response version increases gain with frequency, providing advantages in applications such as microseismic monitoring or triggered seismicity detection.
- Radian’s active force-feedback sensor design ensures consistent amplitude and phase response across the entire bandwidth.
- The Radian system is supplied with a surface interface unit that provides advanced data processing and software communication capabilities. Data is recorded locally in the industry-standard miniSEED format and can be transmitted remotely via standard protocols such as SEEDlink and GDI-link.
- Thanks to its integrated network connectivity, the surface interface unit can be remotely controlled via the free Guralp Discovery software or a standard web browser.
