Guralp 3T

The pioneer of high-performance force-feedback seismometers.
The Guralp 3T is the original and reference model of a three-axis, broadband, weak-motion seismometer, providing exceptionally high-quality monitoring over long durations. Depending on the required performance level and the installation environment, you can choose one of the following options:

  • 3T-360: An observatory-class instrument designed for very long-term monitoring in extremely quiet sites.
  • 3T-120: Available with surface and borehole enclosures; includes an optional polar enclosure that has been tested for cold start and operation at -55°C.
  • 3T-120 PH: A Posthole option suitable for permanent installations in wet environments.

Guralp 3T broadband seismometers are widely used in the Turkish National Seismic Observation Network.

Main Applications:

  • Local, regional, and teleseismic monitoring
  • National seismic networks
  • Monitoring of nuclear test ban treaties
  • Earth tide observations
  • Arctic seismic monitoring (3T-120 Polar)

3T-360

  • Suitable for very long-period seismic monitoring
  • Frequency range: 360s-50Hz (100Hz optional)
  • Sensitivity: 1500 V/ms-1 (2 x 750 V/ms-1)
  • Noise level: < USGS NLNM (values measured between 200s-10Hz)
  • Dynamic range: 167 dB @ 1 Hz
  • Power consumption: 0.75 W @ 10-36 V
  • Stainless steel body ( IP68 - protected against the effects of long-term immersion at a depth of 3 m for 72 hours)

3T-120

  • Suitable for long-period seismic monitoring
  • Frequency range: 120s-50Hz (100Hz optional)
  • Sensitivity: 1500 V/ms-1 (2 x 750 V/ms-1)
  • Noise level: < USGS NLNM (values measured between 166s-10Hz)
  • Dynamic range: 167 dB @ 1 Hz
  • Power consumption: 0.75 W @ 10-36 V
  • Stainless steel body ( IP68 - protected against the effects of long-term immersion at a depth of 3 m for 72 hours)
